580Pottery ceramic handmade hanging planters are good for succulents and small plants.
Good for indoor and outdoor use.
Each planter measures approx. 5 in. x 5 in., has a drainage hole,
three 22-inch nylon cords and decorative wooden beads for hanging.
The Goblet Planter was inspired by customers wanting a larger pot and the benefit of it not hanging. A challenge for me as a potter was that the water needed to be collected from a drainage hole in the planter. Typical planters have a saucer under the pot to catch the water when watering the plant. I found that to be difficult for me because then every pot needed to have a saucer to fit perfectly.
I don't really remember how it came about that I decided to put the pot on a pedestal and have the basin collect the water. I started out with a few prototypes that were very small, using the hanging planters that I normally produce as the pot.
The original pot was tiny, the stem was disjointed and the basin was very small. Over time customers made suggestions for improvements and I added the wicking rope for self-watering. I continue to improve the Goblet Planter and I'm learning more and more about plants :)
The Goblet Planter is good for almost any type of medium to a small plant. Check with your local plant dealer for the perfect plant for this pot.
Goblet Planters are handcrafted ceramic thrown on a potter's wheel using Highwater Clay standing at about 9 inches tall and 7-8 inches at the basin.

The Orchid Goblet Planter is an addition to the Goblet Planter series. Designed with a narrow pot with slats and holes for the Orchid roots and soil to get hydrated from the humid water in the basin below. The planter also has a wicking rope for self-watering.
